Knead & Nettle

Meet NettleThe Witch Behind the Whisk

Hello, lovely souls! I’m Nettle—a mom, wife, herbalist, kitchen witch, and the flour-dusted hands behind Knead & Nettle.

I’ve always believed the kitchen is the most magical room in a home. Take flour, water, and salt: with a little patience and wild fermentation, three simple ingredients transform into a crusty loaf of sourdough bread.

That isn’t just baking—it’s everyday alchemy.

From Garden to Apothecary to Kitchen

My journey didn’t begin with bread; it started with my hands in the dirt. Growing, drying, and preserving my own herbs for homemade teas and tinctures led me deep into the world of herbalism and plant folklore. Eventually, that connection to nature and daily ritual found its way back to my countertops. Somewhere between the fragrant herbs and a bubbling sourdough starter, Knead & Nettle was born.

Everyday Magic for Everyone

To me, kitchen witchery isn’t about complicated spells. It’s the rosemary tossed into a simmering pot, a pinch of herb salt over supper, the intention stirred into a cup of tea, and the patience it takes to nurture a living starter.

Knead & Nettle is my leap away from the nine-to-five grind to build something rooted in creativity and nature—and to share what I’ve learned with you. I don’t just want to sell you a loaf of bread or a botanical blend; I want to take the intimidation out of working with your hands. You don’t need a fancy kitchen or generations of experience to make something wonderful—just curiosity and a bit of flour on your apron.

Welcome to My Hearth

Part bakery, part herbal apothecary, and entirely a labor of love, Knead & Nettle is where old-world traditions meet everyday creativity. Where sourdough starters become kitchen familiars, herbs carry stories, and every handmade creation has a little intention tucked inside. Whether you’re here to adopt a sourdough starter, explore the magic of herbs, or pick up something handmade with intention, I’m so glad you found your way here.

Pull up a chair and stay awhile. There’s always room for one more at my table.

With love, flour, and a little wild magic,

Nettle
